Teracom Tutorial: Training Request Template
Here is a template for a training request to your boss, requesting permission to register for Teracom's Telecom, Datacom, Networking and VoIP BOOT CAMP. Feel free to cut-and-paste this into an email. You can also modify it to be a request for Course 101, Telecom, Datacom and Networking for Non-Engineers, which is the first three days of BOOT CAMP, or with a bit of editing, a request to get the DVD Library. Hopefully this will help you get the training you need and you deserve!

Dear [Your boss’s name],

I would like to attend Teracom Training Institute's telecom, datacom, networking, IP and VoIP BOOT CAMP:

This training will improve my productivity, accuracy and efficiency... and ultimately save money.

I have learned some things technology-wise "on the job"; but am frustrated by gaps in my knowledge, especially when people start speaking in jargon and buzzwords at project meetings then ask me if I agree.

This is the training I need: telecom fundamentals, the telecom business and how to take advantage of competitive service providers on the first day, packets, frames and the network cloud on the second day, IP networks and MPLS on the third day, VoIP fundamentals and technologies on the fourth day, and VoIP implementations, case studies and project management on the last day. It will give me a solid base, fill in gaps and get me up to speed on the jargon, technologies and standard practices.

Besides alleviating this frustrating situation, it makes good business sense for me to attend. This training will make me more accurate - understanding the big picture, the ensemble of technologies and how they relate - and this can only make me (and therefore you) more productive and save the organization money.

The in-class discussions and case studies at the end of the week are an excellent opportunity for me to discuss our situation and identify the best solutions with the very experienced instructor (who is a Professional Engineer with 30 years experience working for Southwestern Bell in the field by the way) and other participants. This can't help but be a good thing for helping ensure we make the right decisions.

Teracom specializes in telecommunications training for non-engineering professionals, starting at the beginning and building a solid foundation in the fundamentals, demystifying jargon and buzzwords, explaining mainstream technologies and most importantly, the underlying ideas, and how it all fits together. Their tuition is only $1995 for five days of professional training. Other companies charge $4995 for the same thing!

Teracom is a recognized leader in this kind of training. Type "telecommunications training" or "voip training" into any search engine like Google or Bing and Teracom is ranked #1 in the organic search results. They've been doing this kind of training since 1992 and by all accounts are very good at it.

The web page describing the full-week BOOT CAMP is /boot-camp.htm
The first three days are Course 101 Telecom, Datacom and Networking for Non-Engineers
The last two days are Course 130 Voice over IP, SIP, Security, 5G and the Internet of Everything

Please let me know if I can register for this training.

Thank you,
