Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits |
| |
| Teracom Training Institute's courses are Continuing Professional Education. |
| Some state or provincial associations for certain professions, such as Certified Public Accountant, require that their members undertake CPE and report it annually to maintain their professional qualifications. |
| The question is then, how many CPE credits do Teracom's courses represent? |
| Every state or provincial association for every profession can define requirements and criteria for Continuing Professional Education. Since these associations numbers in the hundreds, it is not practical - perhaps impossible - for Teracom's training courses to be accredited by every one of these associations. |
| However, many associations do not pre-approve CPE programs, instead referring to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) criteria for CPE programs and CPE credits. These criteria are reasonable and could be applied to any state and any profession. |
| The AICPA-NASBA Standards For Continuing Professional Education Programs measure CPE credits in "contact hours" and define standards for calculating the number of contact hours corresponding to a training course. |
|
We have calculated the following CPE credits for each Teracom course according to the AICPA-NASBA standards:
|
|
|
| Notes: |
| 1. Since DVD-video courses, CBT and textbooks are "self-study", the student may be required to pass an exam to qualify for CPE credits. Teracom has exams. |
| 2. The CPE credits for contact hours are calculated by actual face time for instructor-led training, and by average completion time based on a sample of at least three students for self-study. |
| 3. A particular state association may not accept Teracom's courses for CPE credit. |
| 4. If in the unlikely event that documentation, justification or other work is required to support a claim for CPE credits for Teracom's courses for a particular state association, or to be accredited by a particular state association, that work is the responsibility of the student. Teracom's tuition fees do not include a component for such work. |
